Teaching

As a representative of the family with five generations of musicians and teachers, Ilona was naturally gravitating towards teaching from early days. Even as a child Ilona would orchestrate group activities and lecture her peers. Not only was teaching encoded in her genes, but the environment full of sounds from as early as Ilona being in the cradle constantly stimulated Ilona’s musical receptors. Growing up, Ilona has had the great fortune to observe her mother teaching dozens of violin students, learning how to communicate with children, work with patience and tenacity, and get the children to concentrate, focus, and enjoy the lessons.

Amongst the most recent teaching works Ilona has been doing, is the work as a singing teacher at the Harris Academy Morden in New Malden. Schedule permitting, she is also giving private 1:1 lessons to children.

From the previous experiences it would be worth mentioning her teaching work in Musical Theatre genre alongside Musical Director Greg Arrowsmith. Ilona was the Singing Captain for Hair the Musical in the Playground Theatre. Ilona was overseeing her class for warming up the voices, teaching the harmony lines and everything is performed to the highest standard.

Earlier, Ilona was undertaking assistant singing teacher role during one of the summer seminars organised by the Associated Studios Performing Arts Academy.
