Little Angel of Music

By destiny, Ilona was immersed in music since early days. She was born into a family of five generations of Lithuanian professional musicians. Her mother Aiste Dvarionaite being a professional violinist and renown teacher at The Purcell School, her grandfather being a violin professor and solo performer, even dating back to her great-grandfather who was a worldwide celebrated composer, and great-great-grandfather being an organist in the local church in 19th century. Ilona had the fortune of being surrounded with all genres of music - from genius pieces by Mozart to faultless sounds of jazz by Ella Fitzgerald and that is only the surface of how much music she was exposed to from a very young age. Due to such fortune, Ilona immediately knew that the stage was where she belonged.

Performing since five

And so, it began. Ilona’s musical journey unfolded big from as early as age of five, already performing her first classical guitar recital to more than three hundred people in the capital city hall in Lithuania.

With life being full of surprises, later in 2008, she moved with her family to live in United Kingdom but that did not stop Ilona from reaching her goals and dreams. She expanded her musical world by picking up classical singing training, proudly receiving a training by Sigutė Stonytė who is a stellar Lithuanian soprano and professor at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. Their bond is strong, and Professor Stonytė continues to be Ilona’s main vocal coach. Though having to sing classical music never gave Ilona a dull moment in terms of vocal technique, Ilona’s versatile and energetic nature was searching for more, and whilst studying in Esher College and seeing all the West End productions, Ilona fell in love with musical theatre which opened yet another world to a new kind of music.

Being a devoted fan of famous showtunes from Singing in the Rain to Wicked, Ilona embarked on her professional musical theatre training under Leontine Hass, who is an internationally acclaimed vocal coach and Principal of the Associated Studios Preforming Arts Academy. During her time in the academy, not only did Ilona continue to master her singing repertoire but she also excelled in various genres of acting and dancing - all being vital ingredients of musical theatre. After graduating with Master’s Degree in Musical Theatre, Ilona continues performing on stage, developing creative projects, and giving private singing lessons to talented children in London.
